Dear World!

Omega-3s may have another health benefit — reducing heart risk when used as a part of a healthy diet and lifestyle, according to a preliminary study.

Researchers from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto and the Ottawa Integrative Cancer Centre studied 207 people. Half of them received traditional heart health care like cholesterol and blood pressure medications, while the other half received diet and lifestyle advisement along with natural health products that included omega-3 fatty acids.

After a year, researchers noted those who received the “natural” treatment had a 17 percent less risk for heart disease, based on their Framingham score, which uses age, gender, cholesterol levels and blood pressure to determine the risk.

“This study was on heart disease but it just as well could have been on obesity or diabetes,” said Dugald Seely, M.Sc., study author and director of research at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, wrote in the Canadian Medical Association Journal study. “What it really shows is that exercise, diet, lifestyle changes and supplements are what we need to key in on ways to prevent death.”

Omega-3, which is found naturally in many fish, helps lower cholesterol and reduce inflammation along with a good diet and exercise routine.

This leads to Nu Skin solution that we have come up which products that can satisfy your need of Omega-3, one of them is LifePak Nano. LifePak Nano is a proprietary innovation in anti-aging protection with advanced bioavailability and maximum benefits. LifePak Nano is designed to be the most scientifically advanced anti-aging supplement for adults. One of its main benefits is to nourish and protect cells, tissues, and organs in the body with the specific purpose to guard against the ravages of aging each day of your lifespan.

This is why you should get more Omega3 into your body in order to enhance the operations of not only the brain but also the whole body. Making a good choice on which Omega3 products are best is also important. That products have to meet the needs of providing an excellent source of EPA and DHA for optimal health, supporting normal brain function and wellness as well as promoting cardiovascular health. Moreover, that products also have to be  formulated to provide 1200mg/day of ultra-pure omega-3 fatty acids and krill oil rich in DHA and EPA. Pharmanex MarineOmega is another product we should pay attention to. Pharmanex MarineOmega helps to promote a healthy immune response, support joint function and mobility, promote skin health and beauty.

As scientific studies pointed out, MarineOmega delivers EPA and DHA from two sources: 1) ultra pure fish oil and 2) krill oil, with EPH and DHA in a unique phospholipid structure that is of more direct benefit to brain cells. Under the strict Pharmanex® 6S Quality Guarantee for efficacy and safety, Pharmanex sources fish and krill that are free of toxins, contaminants, or heavy metals. Krill is the only known animal source to naturally contain flavonoids. All other flavonoids come from plants (no other animal source flavonoids have been discovered). The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends that everyone increase their omega-3 intake.

Celebs Likely Cause of Arm Lifts Increase

Arm lifts are the latest craze in plastic surgery — in fact, the number of procedures is up 4,473 percent since 2000, according to statistics collected by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

More than 15,400 patients received arm lifts in 2012, perhaps due to the example set by First Lady Michelle Obama, who has often shown off her well-toned arms in sleeveless shirts, and other celebrities who are a big influence on plastic surgery trends.

“I think we are always affected by the people that we see consistently, either on the big screen or on TV,” said ASPS Public Education Committee Chair David Reath, MD, in a press release. “We see them and think, ‘yeah, I’d like to look like that’.”

Arm lifts typically cost about $4,000 on average and involve removing loose skin on the upper arm and/or liposuction to reduce upper arm fat.

Because of this, Nu Skin came up with one of the best solution which is reDESIGN Body Spa Package. It includes 1 ageLOC Galvanic Body Spa, 1 ageLOC Body Shaping Gel, 1 ageLOC Dermatic Effects, 1 Liquid Body Lufra, 1 NaPCA Mist.

The ageLOC Galvanic Body Spa was designed for use in combination with ageLOC Body Shaping Gel on body areas—not on the face. This instrument was designed to target a larger surface area with a patent-pending ageLOC conductive surface. Secondly, this design is more ergo- nomic for easier use and handling during body treat- ments. Thirdly, the ageLOC Galvanic Body Spa and ageLOC Body Shaping Gel target end benefits/results that are different from those targeted on the face. Lastly, the skin on the body is thicker and less sensitive, making it more apt to benefit from and respond to pulsating technology.

Side Effects of Migraine Prevention Meds Make Them Ineffective

Preventive migraine treatments may not be the best way to treat the debilitating headaches, according to a new review of commonly prescribed drugs.

Though the drugs worked better than placebos in reducing monthly migraine attacks, many of them had such detrimental side effects that patients stopped taking them. Side effects can include weight gain, hair loss, sleepiness and more.

One explanation could be that none of the drugs reviewed were created specifically to prevent migraines.

“So it’s not surprising that they don’t work all that well. Only one-third get halfway better, according to the study, so a doctor has to treat three people to get one patient better,” said Dr. Jason Rosenberg, director of the Johns Hopkins Headache Center.

Rosenberg noted that it’s difficult to determine the best possible treatment when side effect information can be hard to find. Before this study, there had been no thorough review of migration prevention medications.

Brain Stimulation Could Help Kick Smokers’ Cravings

A certain type of brain stimulation appears to temporary reduce a smoker’s craving for nicotine, an early study revealed.

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is already approved in the United States, and was tested on 16 smokers to see if their nicotine cravings would be affected.

Researchers found that after 15 minutes of TMS, the craving for nicotine dipped by an average of nearly 30 percent. But the study still doesn’t prove if the brain stimulation could help smokers quit.

During TMS, an electromagnetic coil is placed on the scalp to create electric currents that stimulate cells in a particular area of the brain, and experts believe it boosts levels of dopamine, which helps regulate moods. Dopamine levels fall when someone is in withdrawal from a drug, the study noted.

Spring has Sprung, So Watch Out for Allergies

As spring begins to bloom across the country, parents should keep a close on their children to see if they start showing signs of seasonal allergies.

“There are different types of allergies, but if you notice that your child has more symptoms and reactions during the spring it’s a clue that they have a pollen allergy,” Dr. Joyce Rabbat, a pediatric allergist at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, said in a release.

Symptoms of a pollen allergy include sneezing, itchy eyes, stuffy and/or running nose and coughing. You can help reduce the symptoms by limiting their time outdoors during a high pollen count, keeping windows and doors closed and running the air conditioning to filter out pollen and having kids wash their face and hands to get all the pollen off the body.

Try and feel it yourself!
